             Despite what the history books may claim, ours was not a quest for money or change, nor was
it any sort of statement.  No, it was simply a ravenous hunger that united us all and, to put it in simple
terms, the Great Hobo Uprising of 2005 had to happen.
              I suppose it all started with an Italian pygmy - a man that we all admired for his flocculent body armor, which kept him warm during the winter months - when he convinced the populous of the Brooklyn Bridge that we were the victims of society and not, as was believed, the instigators of assault, rape, and robbery throughout the city.  I can still recall the first time he gathered the masses for one of his elegant recitations:
              "Friends, allies, brothers... if at first you don't succeed, quickly place the blame.  I'm not about to take it, and I know none of you are.  So, I ask, who is left?  Those bastards out there!"  He pointed a condemning finger to the great metropolis standing behind him as a deafening cheer arose from the ragged masses. 
              This man, known simply as Tiny Dancer, had cemented himself among the elite figures in vagrant history.  He was our muse, our leader, our God - until he died of asphyxiation after falling asleep beside a tire fire some three days later.
              But he had planted the seed.  The revolution was underway.
